NJRPEO was created six months prior to the enactment of the 2011 Pension and Health Benefits Reform Act, Chapter 78 by a group of public employees from many counties around the state. Acting alone we felt powerless to save our guaranteed pension benefits. However, we believe there is strength in numbers. So we formed this organization.
Since the formation of NJRPEO, the situation for retired public employees has become increasingly more precarious. Did you know that several of the largest NJ Pension Funds ( the Teachers Fund and the State Employees Fund) will run out of money to pay your pensions within the next decade?
NJRPEO is governed by a Chairperson and a sixteen member Advisory Board.
